Denise Welch reunites with former Corrie co-stars including Sally Dynevor and Jane Danson

Denise Welch enjoyed a reunion with some of her former Coronation Street co-stars as she shared a sweet post of them together.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday evening, Denise, 63, was joined by ex colleagues Sally Dynevor, Angela Lonsdale, Nikki Sanderson and Jane Danson.

Posting a boomerang of them in a pub garden, she wrote alongside: “Not quite lunch on the cobbles but on the paving stones!!! Friends for 24 yrs (30 for Ang and me) and still never a pause for breath!! Gorgeous day @churchinnmobb with @angelalonsdale @niknaksanderson @sallydynevor @realjanedanson @keeley.page9.”

The group were seen smiling as they posed for the camera. The snap sent Corrie fans wild, with one writing: “This is incredible for any Corrie fan.” Another said: “Ah that's lovely. Quite the cast there Denise x.”

A third said: “This makes me smile,” while another simply commented: “Love this.”

Replying to the messages, Denise wrote: “Lovely comments,” alongside four love heart emojis.

Denise played Natalie Barnes in the ITV soap from 1997 before leaving in December 2000, when she was pregnant at the time.

Natalie, a former landlady of The Rovers Return, was caught up in several big scandals, including her affair with Kevin Webster.

Opening up about her time on the cobbles, Denise previously said: “It was a very daunting time going into it, bearing in mind I was in my late thirties and I'd done things like Soldier Soldier and Spender and I was kind of used to people going 'oh are you her off the thingy.’”

She continued to her Loose Women co-presenters: "But nothing can prime you for what happens when you go into a soap opera.

“And I went in there and I like being alone, I'm very happy with my own company and I need times of aloneness but being alone and lonely are two different things.

“Everyone thought I was having this brilliant time but for the first three or four months I was incredibly lonely.”

The actress previously dropped a hint that could spell a return for her character in the future.

She recalled that Kevin’s car garage business is still partly owned by Denise, admitting: "I still think Natalie owns half that garage, just saying…”
