This Morning star Eamonn Holmes was pictured on the red carpet last night relying on the use of a walking aid following his health problems. The ITV star made the rare appearance with his and wife Ruth Langsford’s son, Jack, as he attended the world premiere of film ROBBO: The Bryan Robson Story, in Manchester yesterday evening.

I know I’m not the only 61-year-old with health issues

Wearing a smart black suit, Eamonn grinned as she made his way across the red carpet.

The star used a walking stick ahead of the movie premiere as he posed for pictures with Jack, 19.

Absent from the event was Eamonn’s wife Ruth, who told how she was staying at home with their dogs yesterday evening in her Instagram stories.

Throughout the year the TV personality has been documenting his recovery after suffering an agonising slipped disc.

Eamonn recently told how he has been left “scared” following his health problems and battle with chronic pain.

He said: “For the past seven months, being incapacitated with back and leg problems has really scared me.”

The star went on to pen his appreciation for wife Ruth, whom he is due to spend Christmas apart from as he travels back home to Northern Ireland to see his family.

“What if there was no one there to help me with the little things? To fetch and carry, cook and clean and generally ask if I needed anything?” he continued.

In a column for Best magazine, Eamonn went on to add that he is getting better “bit by bit”.

Earlier this month the star gave an update on his health after struggling with various painful ailments, explaining that it’s a “slow progress”.

He explained: “I’ve had 90 minutes of rehab for my back pain today, which I do all the time.

“I dislocated two discs getting out of a low-slung car and I’ve been in a lot of pain this year.

“But at least the shingles from three years ago has cleared up. I know I’m not the only 61-year-old with health issues.”

He continued to OK!: “I had two hip replacements when I was 55 but I wish I’d got them sooner and I worry about being a poster boy for ailments.”

Eamonn recently appeared to confirm his move to “anti-woke” news channel GB News following his 15-year stint on This Morning, after “liking” a tweet about the reports.

However, his move has not yet been officially announced.

It comes after it was confirmed that he and Ruth had been dropped from their regular end of the week slot on the ITV daytime show and were replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

However, the star is now expected to front his own show several times a week at GB News, which launched earlier this year.

While the presenter has not officially confirmed his move, the small-screen star liked a post about the switch to GB News on Twitter.

Back in April, the star told how he had to undergo physiotherapy at 4.30am before his ITV presenting duties.

He also shared that he’s been having cold showers to “dull inflammation” and get his energy back.
