Elton John Celebrated With Collection Of Royal Mail Stamps

The U.K. Royal Mail has released a new set of 12 postage stamps in honor of Sir Elton John‘s half century of contributions to music.

The collection includes one set of eight special stamps featuring Elton’s classic album covers and a miniature sheet comprising four stamps with iconic images from his live performances.

The special stamps feature images of the British music legend’s most popular album covers, including Honky Chateau, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Caribou, Captain Fantastic, The Brown Dirt Cowboy, Made In England and Songs From The West Coast.

Elton John is the second solo music artist to be featured on Royal Mail stamps after David Bowie.

John said he was surprised to see himself appear on a Royal Mail stamp, adding, “It’s wonderful, a great honour.”

The release of the stamps come as John embarks on the latest leg of his farewell tour.
