Gemma Collins says dad Alan’s Covid-19 recovery is the ‘biggest gift of all’ ahead of 40th birthday

Gemma Collins has revealed she's feeling positive as her dad Alan is "recovering slowly" from the coronavirus.

The blonde beauty announced that both her parents had contracted the deadly bug and had been "extremely unwell" as a result, in late December. Since then her mum, Joan, and dad have left the hospital after having beaten Covid-19 and are resting at home.

Now, the former TOWIE star has explained that as she turns 40 tomorrow on 31 January, she's been "reflecting" on her life and all the incredible things she has.

The TV personality posted a snap of herself dressed in a pink dress with a thigh-high split as she posed in by a pony – who had a matching pink mane – in front of a beautiful white mansion.

In the caption, she wrote: "As I approach turning 39+1 tomorrow I am reflecting on what an incredible life I have had so far I will deliver my full speech tomorrow but I am overwhelmed with the troves of gifts arriving I’m just so excited to open them all !" [sic]

Boasting over the various gifts that have arrived, she continued: "I’ve seen Versace parcels Gucci parcels Chanel parcels so thank you I will find out who’s sent them tomorrow". [sic]

Gemma, who recently bought her dream house and got the keys to it, continued: "but the biggest gift of all is my dad who is recovering slowly and things are looking positive small steps but he’s getting stronger daily ! X," [sic] with a praying hands emoji.

Celebrity friends were quick to respond as Amanda Holden posted a single black heart emoji as Chloe Sims chimed with three pink heart emojis.

Many of Gemma's 2.1million fans were also quick to comment as one person wrote: "You are a role model and a inspiration for many young women around the country.. Your a legend," [sic] with a red heart emoji and two 100 emojis.

"Happy birthday for tomorrow GC. It's my birthday today, but sadly there is not a Gucci or Chanel bag in sight," [sic] a second joked with a smiling emoji.

While a third added: "Inspirational I have honestly looked up to since the begin of the GC you have change my life in many ways I want you to go in to your 40s feeling fabulous and empowered," [sic] alongside a red heart emoji.

It comes as Gemma recently confessed she's exhausted after not sleeping while her dad was in hospital.

Speaking on an Instagram live with Sassyshopwax, Gemma admitted the distressing time caused her to lose sleep.

Gemma explained: “You can see how tired I am. I literally haven’t slept… Although I have slept he was in hospital and I was just so worried all the time and it’s only really now that I’m catching up on my sleep.

“It’s only now that I wake up and I’m like: ‘Oh he’s out of hospital now I don’t need to worry’ but I can’t help but worry.

“It’s only really now that he’s home that I’m sort of getting everything back together again.”
