Gemma Collins has taken an unusual and unexpected approach to relieving the stress of hectic everyday life, stripping down to undergo cupping and crystals therapy.

The 40-year-old reality television star posted about the experience on Instagram, sharing a video of her back packed with cups that pulled at her skin.

The TOWIE star told her followers: "Guys, I'm having cupping today. And I've had so much going on, and here goes the cupping."

Next to a second video, she added the caption: "this is unreal," before panning the camera around to show her legs covered in the same small glass cups.

With the calming experience far from over, the reality star added another clip of her relaxing while several large crystals rested on her body.

Telling fans that she enjoyed the treatments, Gemma jokingly added a cup to her forehead in another clip, which she captioned: "Cupping is amazing."

Heated cups are traditionally used as a suction to help relieve stress, tension and pain from the body.

Cupping, which originated in China, usually leaves round red marks on the skin, which takes weeks to fade. It is claimed to result in reduced pain and inflammation thanks to the increase of blood flow.

The treatment came at a great time for Gemma, who has been hard at work and recently signed her "most lucrative deal ever" to become the new face of Surf washing powder.

The GC is said to have agreed a figure which is "well over £1million" to replace the brand's current ambassador, Love Island star Dani Dyer.

An insider told The Sun: "Gemma started filming her first commercial over the weekend, and she'll be officially announced as the new face of Surf in the coming weeks.

"She has such a huge following, and everything she endorses turns to gold.

"They may be paying Gemma seven figures to come on board but they think the rewards for Surf will be even greater."

Since leaving The Only Way Is Essex, Gemma has her fingers in many pies, including her own podcast, reality show, clothing store and much more.

Speaking on her episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories, Gemma explained: "In one day I made £75,000 from social media posts, that was on a Black Friday."

As Piers called the amount of money she made on Instagram as "insane" she added: "It is, but the opportunity was there, I probably went out and wasted the money but I had a good time on it."
