Former Hollyoaks star Daisy Wood-Davis has revealed that she cancelled her maternity leave just ten days after giving birth to her son Asa.
The soap star explained that she had initially planned to take six months off following the six-week-old infant's birth but she is already back to looking for work.
Daisy, who played Kim Butterfield on the popular Channel 4 soap, was asked about her plans to return to work during an Instagram Q&A.
She replied: "I'm already back at it. I thought I'd have six months off but ten days after Asa was born I emailed my agent to say I wanted a job sooner than planned."
"So I'm back auditioning!" she added.
"I love what I do & can't wait to have my boy watching me on stage one day. I heard some producers are being so much more accommodating to breastfeeding mums too, which is amazing.
"I'm also really keen to follow other amazing mums in this industry who are paving the way," Daisy added.
Daisy and her partner Luke Jerdy welcomed their first child together on Tuesday 28 September.
Actress Daisy shared a black and white photo of her newborn tot's feet above a sign that read "new baby".
She wrote in the caption: "On Tuesday morning, our world was changed forever.
"@lukjerdy & I are sooooo proud to announce that we have a beautiful baby boy. Asa, you have changed everything" followed by a red heart emoji.
Luke posted the same photos on his Instagram page to announce the arrival of his son.
The actor, who plays Jesse Donovan on Hollyoaks, revealed his grandfather passed away the same month his son was conceived.
He penned: "Asa Sean Wood-Mehdizadeh was born on Tuesday 28th September at 9:50am – the same date as my Grandad, who died in the same month Asa was conceived.
"The song playing on our speaker when he was born was 'Back to Life' by Soul II Soul, which was completely random as Spotify had started to shuffle songs similar to last played.
"Asa means 'healer' in Hebrew and I feel like he has already brought so much healing to me and my family.
"I have the deepest love for @daisy_wood_davis she channelled the strength and energy of millions of women before her – truly incredible. We are parents."
