Samples taken from Kristie had tested positive for opiates and cocaine.

The inquest into Kristie’s death, which took place at Ampthill Coroner’s Court on Tuesday, 6 October, heard she had “numerous blood clots” within her body.

Coroner Dr Sean Cummings, said: “Kristie was found collapsed and had been in that position for a prolonged period.

“As a result of that, the doctor told me she had a condition called rhabdomyolysis – where the muscles die and break down.

“It floods the body with toxins… the collapse was started with drug use.”

Dr Cummings then summed up at the hearing as he said: “My conclusion is that Kristie died of a drug-related death.

“That concludes the inquest and I'm very sorry.”

Kristie made her debut appearance on The Jeremy Kyle show in 2018, during which she admitted she had tricked her parents out of money and begged for cash on the street to fund her addition to drugs.

Her family confronted her on the programme and pleaded with her to seek help.

Kristie vowed to turn her life around and later appeared on the daytime show again in February 2019, after completing a 12 week stint in rehab.

Speaking about her journey in the episode, she said: “When I first started rehab, it was really difficult because I had to go through a withdrawal process, so I had to go as long as possible through a detox before I could take medication.”

Kristie added: “At one point, I didn’t feel very positive and I was really poorly. But, now I’ve stabilised on my medication it’s a totally different story.”

Discussing how the journey has changed her life she added: “I’m not gonna say it’s been easy because there’s a lot of things that I’ve had to face.

“But, do you know what PCP know what they’re doing, they’re professionals and I absolutely went to the right place at the right time.”
