While attending the London premiere of “The Lion King,” the Duchess of Sussex had a candid moment with the musician.
Meghan Markle just inadvertently revealed to the world that she struggles with being in the public eye.
While attending Sunday’s London premiere of "The Lion King," the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met the cast and crew of the Disney photo-realistic remake inside the Odeon in Leicester Square. They stopped to chat with Pharrell Williams, who was involved in the movie’s soundtrack.
"Hey! How you doin’, bro?" the tuxedo-shorts-wearing musician/producer was heard telling Prince Harry as he shook his hand, according to a video posted on Twitter.
"I love the shorts," Harry replied, prompting Pharrell to curtsy and everyone to laugh.
Taking on a more serious tone, he looked at the royal couple and said, "You guys have so beautiful a union, you know? Your love is amazing. It’s wonderful. Don’t ever take that for granted. What it means in today’s climate, I just wanted to tell you, it’s so significant for so many of us. Seriously. For humans, it’s significant. We cheer you guys on."
"Oh, thank you," Meghan responded, as she reached over to touch Pharrell’s arm. "They don’t make it easy."
"So you understand me," Pharrell began to say, before Harry cut him off.
"I understand — you complete me," he joked in reference to one of Tom Cruise’s most famous lines from "Jerry Maguire."
Before the royals jetted off, Pharrell introduced them to his wife, Helen Lasichanh, who was standing behind him.
While the exchange itself wasn’t necessarily noteworthy, Meghan’s comment about "them" not making it "easy" has certainly raised some eyebrows.
The Duchess has recently faced criticism over her alleged privacy demands, including insisting on keeping son Archie’s christening completely private and refusing to reveal the names of his godparents.
Meghan also made a controversial "private" appearance at Wimbledon, where she caused a stir after her bodyguards told fans they were not allowed to take her photo.
