Neil Young has announced that the long-awaited second volume of his archive recordings, including 12 unknown songs, will be released on November 20.
The box set titled Archives Volume II: 1972-1976 will feature 131 tracks, 49 previously unheard versions of classics from the rock icon’s archives, and a 252-page hardbound book.
It is a follow-up to the Canadian-American singer-songwriter’s massive The Archives Volume 1: 1963-1972, released in 2009.
The box set will include his most famous albums such as Time Fades Away, On the Beach, Tonight’s the Night, Zuma, Long May You Run and the recently issued lost album Homegrown.
Young also released a two-and-a-half-minute video trailer that offers a sneak peek into the 10-disc package, featuring photos, video, and lyric manuscripts.
Only 3,000 units of the limited edition box set will be available worldwide.
Ahead of the box set, Young is set to release the movie and album Return to Greendale, based on the theatrical 2003-04 tour of his rock opera “Greendale,” on November 6.
