Olly Murs discusses the struggle of creating music in lockdown

The Voice coach Olly Murs, 36, lives in Essex with his bodybuilding champion girlfriend Amelia Tank. The singer credited his partner for keeping him on track with his fitness and nutrition in lockdown, but said he wasn’t always as disciplined. Speaking in a Live Instagram with fitness educator Rob Solly tonight, he revealed he had been better in the past few months.
But, he joked there was an “issue” about how much he eats compared to his girlfriend.
“I think being with Amelia has made a massive difference [with his nutrition] but she’s just as picky as me,” he revealed.
“She always looks great, she trains and she just burns it straight away.”
He went on to say: “I have this issue, she will open a box of Maltesers buttons, she’d be like I really fancy them, so I’ll get a bag.
“And then she’ll go, I’ll have one and then I’ll have one and I’m still eating them while she’s still eating her first one.
“So she only has like three of four more and I finish the pack.”
“I haven’t got the discipline,” he added, admitting he had the mindset to finish any food he has opened.
But, The Voice Coach said being at home in lockdown has helped him to be more strict about what he eats.
He continued: “I think being at home a lot more has helped me massively.
“I know it sounds ridiculous, and everyone in lockdown must feel the same, but the fridge has become all our best friends.
“When you’re bored, you can’t help but think I’m going to the kitchen and get something to eat.
“Now that I’m at home more I’m having to fight my demons a little bit,” he added.

“I think if I can do it at home I can do it anywhere.”
Olly said he is happy with his progress so far and is in a “really good place”.
“I’m eating well and training well,” he added.
Olly first crossed paths with Amelia in 2019 while working out at the same gym.
The pair began dating and announced their relationship on Instagram in 2020.
In a recent interview with Lorraine, he praised his girlfriend for keeping his spirits up during lockdown.
“She’s fantastic; she’s my support, she’s my everything, which is great and we have so much fun together,” he gushed.
