He’s probably Taylor Swift’s least favourite person in the world after buying her masters earlier this year but Scooter Braun has attempted to extend an olive branch to the singer.
As she celebrates the release of her new album Lover – which is the first one she will own completely – the music manager decided to share his praise for her new music on Twitter.
‘Regardless of what has been said the truth is you don’t make big bets unless you are a believer and always have been,’ he tweeted.’Brilliant album with #Lover. Congrats @taylorswift13.
‘Supporting was always the healthier option #brilliantalbum #brilliantcampaign congrats.’
Taylor is yet to publicly respond to his message but her fans didn’t waste time telling him what they thought.
‘if you support her then you’d give her masters back r*t,’ one replied.
‘Sell Taylor her masters then (for a fair price and fair conditions),’ another added.
‘Stop acting all nice you’re so fake. But thank you for the promo Dude. If you give her back the masters before 2020 I’ll start loving ya,’ another responded.
His tweets comes a day after Taylor revealed her plans to re-record the old songs after Scooter bought her music in a controversial deal.
The music mogul behind Justin Bieber, bought her former record label Big Machine Label Group in June for a whopping £240 million.
Taylor vocally attacked the sale on Tumblr, calling it the ‘worst case scenario’ after alleging that she was never given the opportunity to buy back her own master recordings – something the company denies – which were now owned by a man who accused of ‘incessant, manipulative bullying.’
Something tells us Tay won’t be replying to his tweet anytime soon.
