Stacey Solomon has defended her decision to keep her son Rex's hair long, telling fans that she has always struggled with her children's first haircuts.

The 32-year-old spoke out about her decision to keep her one year old son Rex's hair long on her Instagram stories on Wednesday night.

In a Q&A with her 4.3 million fans on Instagram, she divulged some of her parenting styles with her fans, admitting that she has “always had a problem with first haircuts.”

Stacey said she went through the same issues with her older sons, Zachary, 13, who she shares with ex Dean Cox, and Leighton, eight, who she shares with ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham.

One of her followers asked her: “Will you cut Rex’s hair? Please don’t but I have a 19 m/ old and can’t control his but I don’t want to cut it.”

The Loose Women star explained: “I never wanted to cut his hair. I’ve always struggled with first haircuts. I wait until they say ‘Mum I want a haircut’ so they’ve all had really long hair for ages.

“I feel like as soon as you cut their hair they are not babies anymore and look about 15.”

Stacey shared adorable snaps of the tot in the garden with his hair pulled back into a loose top knot to keep the hair out of his eyes, with a huge cheeky grin on his face while wearing a sweet Lion King ensemble.

Another fan went on to ask Stacey about the children’s bedtime routine after noting that her sons seem to stay up late and go to bed at the same time as she and Joe.

The Essex native was quick to respond to the criticism of her parenting skills, telling followers that parenting is hard enough so “just do what gets you through.”

She said: “Don’t know if this is a judgy question or I’m just premenstrual but I'm taking it as a personal dig.

“We don’t have a really strict routine because we never know whether we’re coming or going half the time. So, we just go with it and do the best we can.

“I love cuddling my kids – whether people think it’s right or wrong – I just want to squeeze them because I know one day, they won't want to cuddle me anymore.”

Stacey and Joe, 39, recently announced that they have decided to get married at their new £1.2 million home in Essex.

The pair are set to tie the knot this summer taking advantage of the 2.5-acre garden, with plans to have the ceremony take place under a wooden pergola.
