F1: Stewart aided Spielberg with Indiana Jones issue
Indiana Jones has always been an extremely intelligent character. Throughout four films so far, Harrison Ford has portrayed Dr Henry Jones as a smart, logical, and brilliant man who puts the relics he is hunting above all else. Despite this, he is not one to step away from a fight. Many instances of the four films have shown Indy taking on countless foes and triumphantly winning battles. That is all about to change, however, in the upcoming Indiana Jones 5.
The fifth Indiana Jones movie has not yet been given a title, nor has any plot information been released.
But back in 2013, Indiana Jones star Ford explained how the next film in the franchise would see him continuing his story.
The star even went on to call his return “appropriate”, before hinting that it would focus more on Indiana’s intellectual struggles than solving problems with his fists.
Ford said: “We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time.”

Ford continued: “It’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much a*s.”
Going on to back up this claim, Ford went on: “To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed.
“That he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”
Chances are, Ford was hinting that the fifth edition of the Indiana Jones series would be more of a subtle exit for the character, rather than an all-guns-blazing movie.

It has been hinted over the years that Indiana Jones 5 would be Ford’s final outing as the character.
The fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, saw Mutt (played by Shia LaBeouf) being introduced.
Mutt turned out to be Indy’s son, subtly setting up a replacement of the legendary tomb raider.
However, in previous interviews, Indiana Jones producer Frank Marshall candidly said: “There will only be one Indiana Jones, and that’s Harrison Ford.”

The latest piece of information to be released about Indiana Jones 5 came from Disney on their December 10 investor’s presentation.
The company tweeted: “Lucasfilm is in pre-production on the next instalment of Indiana Jones.
“At the helm is James @Mang0ld, director of Ford v Ferrari, and Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character’s journey. Adventure arrives July 2022.”
Shortly thereafter, rumours began hitting the internet that Indiana Jones 5 would be the beginning of a slew of movies in the universe.
According to a Hollywood insider, Indiana Jones 5 will kickstart a number of spin-off movies.
There is no further information on who or what these movies will focus on, but chances are it will be focussing on Mutt, as Indy will be bowing out after the fifth film.
Otherwise, the series could turn to looking at prequels to the Indiana Jones films, showcasing a younger archeologist.
Indiana Jones 5 is due out in July 2022.
