The Masked Singer UK judge Davina McCall has admitted she thought her telly career would be finished by now.
The TV presenter has fronted a string of shows like Big Brother, The Million Pound Drop and Long Lost Family.
But she claimed that it is her current stint as a judge on The Masked Singer that has saved her life in showbiz.
Davina, 54, said: “What was crazy about last year is that I honest to God thought that my career would be over by this point.
“And I’ve never been so busy, but in a really, really lovely way.
“I’m loving work so much, and due to the lighter restrictions we’ve been able to work with a studio audience on The Masked Singer. All that kind of stuff was magic.”
Davina bounced back from a bout of Covid last year and said that thanks to her family and her TV job she is back on top and “really happy”.
She added: “Even though I do remember really struggling at the beginning of the year, I actually look back at last year with great fondness.
“All the kids were together, and this is a time they’ll never get back again. Especially for my son, Chester, who is 15 now, so he’s the youngest. The girls are starting to do their own thing now, so really we should feel grateful for that time.
“I didn’t go out dancing as much as I would’ve liked, but I did go out for one night of really big dancing.
“I want to do more of that, but I feel like we’re not quite there.
“We still have a lot of recovery to do as a country and as a world to see us returning to normal life again.”
