Eamonn Holmes cancels work commitments as he tests positive for Covid-19

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes has had to cancel his TV work commitments after being struck down by Covid-19, but says he is "doing well".

The daytime presenter, who has been double vaccinated, shared the news on social media earlier on Tuesday.

The Irish star said: "Covid finally caught me.

"Thankfully I’m Double jabbed. More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well.

"Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies."

Many fans of his have flooded in to wish him well and a speedy recovery.

One fans tweeted: "Get well soon – hope Ruthie is looking after you!"

While a second added: "Get well lovely Eamonn"

And a third penned: "Get well soon Eamonn. The way it’s going I think we are all going to get it at some point. Thank God for the vaccine"

Eamonn has often talked about Covid during his presenting stints on This Morning with his co-star wife Ruth Langsford.

In July, Eamonn said: "I know people who have been double jabbed and they have Covid and they were saying to me, “You would not want to get this” so double jab is not going to prevent this happening."
