Hunky James Norton has now portrayed vicar-cum-sleuth Sidney Chambers at the side of Robson Green’s Geordie Keating for seven years now.
The 36-year-old is one of the UK’s finest acting talents, known also for his roles in other TV series including Black Mirror and Happy Valley, as well as films like Little Women and Hampstead.
But the Lambeth-born star remains a bit of an enigma, leaving fans wondering what goes on once the cameras stop rolling – especially in his love life.
James has been seeing actress Imogen Poots since 2017, after the pair reportedly took to each other while treading the boards together in Amy Herzog’s Belleville at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre in London’s West End.
After clicking instantly, James started dating Imogen, 32, around the time his relationship with Irish actress Jessie Buckley hit the rocks, and the couple eventually let the cat out of the bag in 2018.
Jessie revealed at the time that the split was "acrimonious" after the pair met and fell in love on the set of War and Peace.
Although the Grantchester darling generally keeps the details of his love life behind closed doors, now and then he shares a snap of his girlfriend on social media.
Just last week, the heartthrob took to Instagram, posting separate brooding shots of himself and Imogen wearing different hats but matching pouts.
“What in heaven’s name, you two”, commented one fan.
Amid all the selfies and glossy film and telly stills, his 185,000 followers will also find a 2019 black-and-white post of the adorable twosome on a trip to Denmark.
Captioning the shot, James wrote: "Trying my hand with some film cause I'm a dirty Luddite”.
Hammersmith-born Imogen got her big break in post-apocalyptic horror film 28 Weeks Later, and since then she’s taken major roles in heaps of films and TV shows.
The silver-screen beauty also recently appeared in award-winning dementia psycho-drama The Father alongside Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins.
The love birds have now been together for three years after making it through a long-distance relationship.
Speaking to the Evening Standard about that period of their life together, Imogen confessed it had been a breeze.
“It’s all I’ve ever known. I’ve never known something to fall apart because of distance”, she said.
