Liam Gallagher declares love for Noel 13 years after Oasis split led to feud

Liam Gallagher has said he would donate a kidney to his brother Noel if he needed one “without a doubt”.

The brothers have been embroiled in a bitter feud since Oasis split in 2009 following a backstage argument in Paris.

During a question and answer with fans in The Guardian, Liam said Noel is “my brother and I love him”, before adding that his older brother is “all bravado”.

Asked “if Noel’s life depended on a new kidney and you were the only donor match, would you give him one of yours?” the 49-year-old replied: “Without a doubt. Of course I would. He’s my brother, man, and I love him. I’d give you one as well, mate.

“Do I think he’d give me one of his? Yeah. He’s all bravado. He and all his celebrity mates just get up their own a***s. I’m sure they’re good people, but they’re very insecure.”

While Noel wrote most of Oasis' biggest hits, Liam insists it was his voice that fans wanted to hear.

He said: “He wrote some great songs and I sang them. It’s the voice that people want to hear.

“I could get someone to play Noel’s guitar parts 10 a penny. Noel can’t get anyone to sing like me.'

Liam and Noel have been trading insults since Oasis split, with the band having sold over 70million albums worldwide.

Both soon created new bands, with Liam fronting Beady Eye and Noel establishing Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

In a November 2020 appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show, Liam claimed that Noel had turned down a £100million off to join him on a reunion tour.

Speaking at the time, Liam said: “I think we're both the problem and the problem is that he thinks he's not the problem. He thinks I'm both the problems.

“Whereas I'm just a problem. I'm half the problem, whereas I can't be having him thinking I'm the full problem.

“He needs to take on some of the problem. The minute he does that we'll move on. He needs to own his problem… No [I haven't spoken to him]. I don't think it's going to happen.”
