Michael J Fox has joked he was almost "on a date" with Princess Diana when the actor ended up sitting next to her at the world premiere of Back To The Future.
Fox, who starred as Marty McFly in the hit Sci-Fi trilogy, said his 1985 meeting with Lady Di was a "nightmare" in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on NBC's The Tonight Show yesterday (November 18).
Recalling the star-studded night of the premiere, he said: "She was sitting next to me.
"The lights go down and the movie starts and I realise I am one fake yawn and an arm stretch away from being on a date with her, which is hilarious."
Unfortunately, things go downhill for Fox from here on in because of an awkward problem on his part.
"The movie started and also I had to go pee," he said.
"So for the rest of the movie, I’m sitting there like dying.
"I can’t say anything to her and I can’t walk away from her because I can’t turn my back on her."

The 59-year-old actor, who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, added: "What could have been the greatest night of my life was a nightmare.
"A pee-holding nightmare."
Michael J Fox has previously joked that the reason he would never agree to shoot Back To The Future 4 is that he absolutely hated the DeLorean car which his character uses to time travel.
The actor claimed the car would leave him "bleeding" because of its lifting doors.
He said: "I wish I had a video, a gag reel of how many times I was hit by that freakin' door, the DeLorean door.
"Take after take it would go whack!"
Fox added: "The money it would take to get me back into the DeLorean again is a lot."
