Piers slams Harry Potter cast for ditching JK Rowling when she ‘made them rich’

Piers Morgan has slammed Harry Potter stars as "ungrateful" for abandoning JK Rowling after she made them "rich and famous."

The 56-year-old journalist called out the actors for ditching the famous author over her controversial views on transgender rights.

The successful writer has recently come under fire over her comments on the transgender and LGBTQ+ community, with some fans calling for her to be 'cancelled'.

The TV star recently pointed out how JK Rowling had made them all "rich and famous" following Chris Rankin, who played one of the Weasley twins Percy, speaking out against her.

The TV presenter said: “Weasley by name, and nature.

"These Potter stars are such a bunch of ungrateful little twerps … more interested in pathetic virtue-signalling than supporting the right of the woman who made them all rich and famous to have an opinion most people agree with.”

Since the films were produced, JK Rowing has been open about her thoughts on gender identity and often tweets her views.

Her controversial views have been criticised by loyal readers, as well as the film stars including the main cast Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint.

The 56-year-old author felt the need to speak out about transgender issues because of her experience of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Chris addressed the author of the book's comments while speaking to the Eastern Daily Press.

He said: "I do a lot of work with charities that are LGBTQ+-focused and I raise money for the Albert Kennedy Trust on a regular basis.

"A lot of my family are members of the community. It is a huge part of my life and I think, by saying that, you can probably guess where my allegiances lie in that respect.

"What is important to highlight is that, when a trans person says they are male or female, that is what they are and that is how we should treat them.

"It is damaging to them to say otherwise."
