Star-crossed lovers Tim Clarkson and Melyza Zeta are no strangers to overcoming adversity. After all, during their time starring on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, they’ve already overcome quite the obstacles, including a long-distance relationship and infidelity (on Tim’s part). The hits only kept coming when Melyza admitted to engaging in a relationship when she and Tim were on a break. But now it appears they’ve hit another roadblock.
As reported by TV Insider, during the Nov. 22, 2020, episode of Season 2, Tim made the difficult decision to leave Colombia and return to the United States. A choice that Melyza is none too pleased with, we might add. And it doesn’t appear she has any opportunity to change his mind as he’s already purchased his plane ticket and everything. “I can’t believe that he’s leaving. I think this is bulls**t,” Melyza said during her confessional. “I’m just really disappointed.”
So what is Tim’s reasoning behind the abrupt decision to leave the country and high tail it back home? Keep reading after the jump to find out! Let’s just say the answer may surprise fans.
Tim Clarkson claims his decision is money-based
According to Tim Clarkson, the reason he’s leaving Melyza Zeta and going back to the United States is simple: It’s strictly a financial decision. Tim says that, although he loves Melyza “mucho, mucho,” he must return to America to make an income. Tim assures Melyza that he will be back, but Melyza’s not so sure and questions whether she should wait for him. “I’m not looking for other people,” she explained, per TV Insider. “I just want some more time to make the decision to be in a long-distance relationship again.”
Tim — who admitted to cheating on Meylza — then has the nerve to question whether Melyza will be faithful while he’s gone. “I’m going to be thinking the whole time you’re with someone else,” he said. “I’m going to be thinking the same thing too,” Melyza snapped back.
Tim then launches into a soliloquy in which he spouts out a line that could rival the infamous “it’s not you, it’s me” line. “I just don’t know what to do,” he stammers. “I’m not moving back to run away from you. I’m moving back so I can run back to you.” Okay, Romeo. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, we suppose?
