Former bachelor Colton Underwood and his season winner Cassie Randolph announced their split on Instagram back in May. While the two reality stars both wrote about wanting to stay friends, things have gone from messy to potentially dangerous over the last few months. Randolph was just granted a temporary restraining order against Underwood, meaning he has to stay at least 100 yards from her, her home, her work, and avoid any contact or threatening behavior. Bachelor Nation has, of course, been weighing in with their thoughts.
Cassie Randolph is granted a temporary restraining order against Colton Underwood
Randolph filed for a restraining order on September 11 for “domestic violence prevention.”
According to Us Weekly, who reports they’ve obtained the court documents, Randolph alleges that Underwood has been “stalking and harassing” her and has “sent her unsettling text messages, repeatedly called her, and placed a tracking device on her vehicle.”
Additionally, the documents say Underwood has been seen outside of Randolph’s parents’ home in Huntington Beach, Calif. on several occasions. One night, Randolph’s younger brother and his friends saw the former football player outside of her bedroom window at 2 a.m.
The documents also claim Underwood “watches Ms. Randolph’s apartment in Los Angeles,” and that he told friends “he goes on multiple walks a day to Ms. Randolph’s apartment building.”

Its been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting. Sometimes people are just meant to be friends – and that’s okay. We both have grown immensely and been through so much together – so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us.
The court documents also showed text messages sent from Underwood to Randolph “at all hours of the day.” According to the publication, Underwood texted his ex saying that she was “shady” and “a selfish person who isn’t ready to be loved.” He later apologized saying he was “lost.”
The former football player also allegedly “repeatedly” sent long text messages using “alias phone numbers” to Randolph’s friends and family in an attempt to keep track of his ex anonymously.
In October, Underwood will have the chance to appear at a hearing where he can state his side of things.
How Bachelor Nation feels about Cassie getting a restraining order against Colton
As is the case for any volatile Bachelor Nation split, fans have taken sides.
Despite Randolph’s restraining order being approved, some extreme Colton fans are suggesting she filed to “stay relevant.” But other fans are quick to point out the hypocrisy in their victim-blaming–”Are you forgetting that Colton has been on 3 reality shows within a YEAR?” wrote one fan.
On Randolph’s Instagram page, many fans are offering their support along with their own experiences with stalking.
“Sending love,” commented one fan on a recent post of Randolph’s. “I’m sorry you’re already receiving hate from trolls. Stay safe, and know sane individuals are here to support you. Anyone attacking you for your decision needs help themselves. I personally know how bad a stalker ex can get. Praying for you and your family’s safety.”
Other fans are bringing up Underwood’s reaction to when Randolph attempted to break up with him during her fantasy suite as an early red flag.
“Cassie, I support you,” wrote another Instagram user on Randolph’s page. “The fence jump was a huge red flag from the start. She rejected him, and he couldn’t accept it so he jumped a fence- how mature. that isn’t ‘fighting for love’ behavior, that’s possessive/entitled. plus, he put a tracker on her car and stalks her- that’s terrifying. She made the best decision for her safety. The fact that you all are defending Colton’s behavior really speaks to a society that protects predators and entitled boys.”
On Underwood’s page, fans are waiting to hear his side of the story come October.
“2 sides to every story…hoping Colton gets the help he needs if all of this is true though,” wrote one fan on the most recent post of Underwood’s.
