Bradley Walsh welcomed Patrick, Corrine, Mandy and Dom onto The Chase this evening as the foursome went up against Chaser Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty. However, ITV viewers hit out at the quiz show when Bradley accepted an incomplete answer during Corrine’s cash builder round.
Patrick kicked off the team’s efforts by scoring £5,000 before being beaten by Anne.
Corrine then stepped up for her cash builder round but struggled with one question in particular.
Bradley asked: “Angels way is a street in Stoke-on-Trent named after a song by which singer?”
Struggling, Corrine said: “Rob…Robbie…Robbie from Take That.”

“I’ll accept,” Bradley confirmed before clarifying his decision after the round.
He said: “Obviously when you said Robbie you were alluding to Robbie Williams.”
“Absolutely,” The Chase contestant replied.
ITV viewers weren’t pleased and took to Twitter to slam Bradley for accepting her answer.
One said: “#thechase Can’t believe they took that answer!”
“Knocked back a guy for saying Helena Christensen slightly wrong but except Robbie from Take That.
That’s The Chase for ya people #TheChase,” another shared.
A third wrote: “#thechase They wouldn’t have accepted ‘Robbie’ as a correct answer in any other TV quiz.”
Someone else tweeted: “How did she get away with that Robbie answer? #TheChase.”

“Robbie ‘from Take That’ Williams – that’s his full name #TheChase,” a fifth added.
Another quipped: “His name is Robbie Williams, love #TheChase.”
Corrine went on to secure her place in the final by adding the £5,000 she had earned to the jackpot prize fund.
The next contestant to face the Chaser, Mandy, wasn’t so lucky and was stopped from reaching the final by Anne.
Luckily, Corrine wasn’t left on her own and was joined by Dom who added £4,000 to the jackpot.
The pair only managed to score 12 in the final chase and were comfortably beaten by Anne.
Praising the team’s first contestant. Anne quipped: “I’m afraid you did need to set me a higher target. The damage was done when postman Pat went out.”
“He was a good player,” Bradley remarked.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
