CORONATION Street fans are convinced Geoff Metcalfe will be murdered in a dramatic whodunnit during the soap's 60th anniversary week.
The abusive magician's wife Yasmeen's attempted murder trial will take place that week and fans think she will be freed – and that Geoff will be left raging at everyone who has seen him for what he is.
And they think she will be prime suspect if one of the people who turned against him does kill him.
One fan posted: "Yasmeen's trial won't be going well until Elaine runs in last minute and confesses everything.
"Geoff is let out on bail. There'll be a big scene where Geoff confronts loads of people.
"He says to Tim he wishes he'd never been born, calls Yasmeen a slag, Abi a junkie etc and he'll then be found dead (probably in the Platt's sinkhole) leading to a whodunnit with Faye being revealed as the culprit.
"We'll then have a thing where only Policeman Craig knows about it and essentially becomes a bent copper."
The climax of the story will comes as part of a dramatic week that will see three high profile storylines reach their peak.
The anniversary week will see three storylines reach their conclusions while triggering events that will take the show into 2021.
The residents of Coronation Street will unite to save the cobbles from Ray Crosby (played by Mark Frost), who has bought most of the property and businesses in the area and is ready to flatten them to make way for a new development
Following months of abuse inflicted by Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) upon his wife Yasmeen (Shelley King), she will be on remand charged with his attempted murder.
The anniversary week will see the end of her trial.
Meanwhile, two characters will battle to keep a secret that will ruin their lives and those around them.
Coronation Street has begun a 60-day countdown to its 60th anniversary.
The programme, the world's longest-running TV soap according to Guinness World Records, will celebrate the milestone on December 9.
