Harvey (played by Will Mellor) escaped prison in epic Coronation Street scenes which had disastrous consequences for the Alahan family, whose car the prison van collided with. It didn’t take the criminal long to track down Leanne (Jane Danson), who was horrified to find herself alone with her worst nightmare unfolding. Express.co.uk and other media recently spoke to Harvey star Will, who gave a few hints as to what might come of the terrifying reunion. It’s possible Leanne might be kidnapped by the villain as he tries to get his revenge in the cruelest way possible.

The ITV soap drug dealer is willing to go to extremes to ensure he gets revenge on the people who landed him in prison.

Actor Will explained: “Harvey, especially with the Leanne, he’s light and shade.

“He’s action and action and loads of drastic stuff and then there are these still moments.

“And I think it’s the still moments sometimes where he’s most threatening, because he’s in front of Leanne and at any moment he can get his hands on her.

“He likes to play with that and it’s like Harvey is not just there just to kill her, he wants to terrify her.”

He continued: “And he also wants to kill some of their family while he’s there.”

Talking about how the easing of social distancing made things easier for the scenes, Will explained: “It made all the difference. “There’s so much more of a threat when you can get up close and personal with somebody, I mean I actually do a lot of shouting stuff.

“And I try not to do that as much because I think sometimes shouting weakens the character, when you’re stood away from people, you’ve gotta show your presence in a bigger way.

“Sometimes, there’s something a lot more scary when you get really close and you get inside somebody’s ear, and you whisper to them or when you can physically touch somebody.

“The threat of other things is there and we explored that as well and I said to Jane ‘We’re going to explore a few different things that maybe isn’t in the script, but will fill in the gaps in between the dialogue of of Harvey.’

“So stepping close to her and stroking her face or just touching her hair and every time she flinches it’s because she doesn’t know – is he going to strangle her?

“You know, the worst he could do – is he going to try and take her clothes off, is he going to try and rape her?

“You don’t know what’s going through Harvey’s mind at any moment.

“And he likes to play with the emotions that he’s got her terrified in a corner.”

Will added: “And that’s the kind of narcissist he is. He enjoys that because he’s the boss wants to win.”

With the unpredictable and dangerous criminal alone with Leanne, he’s likely to try to make her suffer as much as possible.

He might even try to kidnap her. With the rest of the cobbles residents busy trying to survive the terrifying sinkhole or a devastating car crash, Harvey will have the perfect opportunity to take Leanne with nobody noticing.

The soap stars also revealed the consequences of the action-packed week would be long-lasting.

Talking about Harvey, Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod explained: “He’s at large, nobody knows what he’s capable of or what he’s planning to do.

“And then he’s inserted into this incredibly dramatic backdrop that we’ve created and the end result is fairly chilling, I think it’s fair to say.

“So I’m really looking forward to people’s reactions to that when they see what he’s going to do and what he’s got in mind.”

It seems killing his victims may not be enough for Harvey. He wants Leanne to suffer so it’s possible he could attack her before making an exit from the street with her.

By kidnapping Leanne, Harvey would also be punishing Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), two people he also wants to get back at.

As Leanne’s stepson and sister, her disappearance would definitely devastate them.

Will anyone be able to step in and stop Harvey as the chaos continues to unfold in Weatherfield?

Coronation Street continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
