EastEnders has been cancelled AGAIN tonight – but it's not all bad news for fans.
The Women's World Cup has pushed the soap out of its usual 7.30pm slot with England taking on the United States.
Regular viewers have complained about being unaware of the changes to the schedule, but they have been warned tonight.
The official Twitter account exoressed their sadness but revealed the episodes later in the week will be explosive.
EastEnders tweeted: "When you realise there's no #EastEnders on tonight. We're back on Thursday at 7.30pm, and Friday 8.30pm with some truly unmissable episodes!"
This comes after former executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins defended the show after its ratings plunged to a record low.
The ex-boss said the show had gone through a “fallow” period but was on the up as he hit out at BBC schedulers for moving the show because of the Women’s Football World Cup.
He said: “Every time EastEnders starts to rebuild its viewers’ loyalty after a fallow period, it’s moved around in the schedules for the bloody football. Move the football around EastEnders. It’s en fuego at the moment.”
Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler and was brought back to the show by Treadwell-Collins, agreed, saying: “Absobloodylutely!”
The soap got it's lowest ever ratings in its 34-year history on Thursday with just 2.4 million viewers for the 7pm episode.
Only 2.9 million tuned in at 9pm for the second helping, with many left unaware it was coming back on.
It was beaten by fellow soap Emmerdale, which received 4.9m viewers, and even politics show Question Time.
It was the first time EastEnders has seen its audience slump to below three million with the previous low being 3.7m viewers in 2017.
A spokesman for the soap said: “With the growing popularity of this year’s Women’s World Cup, it was decided that BBC One viewers should have the opportunity to watch as many of the matches as possible.
“Although this meant a late schedule change for EastEnders this week, we are confident that our audience know they can watch EastEnders on BBC iPlayer as we have already seen a significant number of viewers watching this week’s episodes.”
