EastEnders revealed that Max Branning could be Ian's attacker as he was seen burying the weapon.
Max (Jake Wood) buried the Lucy Beale Foundation award in the allotment just before the end credits rolled, and fans now think he's linked to the attack.
Jack Branning previously told Max there was a piece of blue glass found by forensics at the scene of the crime.
When looking at the award, it appeared to be missing that piece of blue glass.
Viewers went into meltdown on Twitter, many convinced Max attacked Ian.
One said: "So was it Max."
While another wrote: "OMG it was Max seriously?"
"MAX!!", penned a third.
However, others think Max is innocent and covering for the person who attacked Beale.
Another wrote: "Max!!! I think he is getting rid off evidence to protect Linda".
While another added: "Max may have the weapon but could it be he didn't attack Ian and that he went to the Vic, seen the weapon and assumed Linda did it so took the weapon?"
Viewers will have to wait to find out if Max is guilty.

Shirley had asked him to find a takeaway delivery driver who could potentially clear Tina's name over Ian Beale's brutal attack.
Gray found the delivery driver and paid him to give Tina an alibi.
Their stories didn't add up, as the pizza delivery man said he'd seen Tina, but not actually spoken to her.
Gray said: "Sorry, I really thought he could have helped. His story doesn't match yours, I'm afraid."
Tina looked horrified as the detective said they would submit evidence to the CPS implicating her in the attempted murder of Ian Beale.
