EastEnders fans are convinced that serial killer Gray Atkins' (Toby-Alexander Smith) days as a free man are numbered.
The triple murderer was left stunned during Thursday's trip to Walford when Whitney arrived home in floods of tears and told him she'd run someone over in his car.
It was later revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) had been the person knocked down but she managed to survive the hit and run horror.
A furious Gray lost his temper with Whitney as she explained what happened but he didn't want to see her go back to prison.
In a bid to protect her, the scheming solicitor told the police that his car was stolen by a gang of youths.
The vehicle was later taken away as evidence and viewers are convinced that this marks the beginning of Gray's downfall.
Avid EastEnders fans will remember that Gray placed Tina Carter's dead body into the boot of his car after he brutally murdered her in December.
Tina's body is yet to be found and her family are still looking for the missing woman and fans think the latest storyline will tie in with Gray's secret murder victims.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "I hope the police having Gray's car as evidence will lead to them finding Tina's DNA."
Another added: "Hopefully some of Tina's DNA is in Gray's car."
A third person posted: "Come on Eastenders let them find Tina's DNA in Grays car!!"
While a fourth social media user said: "They are going to find Tina’s DNA on Gray’s car aren’t they?! Is the beginning of his downfall?!!"
"Wonder if they’ll find Tina’s DNA or something on the car?, a fifth viewer predicted.
"At least the police got Gray's car. They can finally find Tina's skin cells in the boot too and then there's the tracking device he has on the car too," someone else wrote.
Tina was killed over the Christmas period after she worked out that Gray was responsible for his wife Chantelle's death.
Gray went to extreme lengths to stop Tina exposing his abusive secret, and murdered her.
He wrapped her body up and put her in the boot of his car.
As well as Chantelle and Tina, Gray most recently was responsible for the death of Whitney's fiancé Kush Kazemi.

Unbeknownst to the young woman, Gray pushed Kush in front of a speeding London Underground Tube last month.
Albert Square residents have been led to believe that it was a tragic accident due to the lack of CCTV.
Will Gray finally be caught out as the police search his car following Whitney's hit-and-run horror?
