Jamie Tate’s (Alex Lincoln) body was never found after his car crashed into a river, and Kim (Claire King) believes he is alive. Now that Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) is dead following tragic Emmerdale scenes last week, Kim is gripping onto Mille (Willow Bell), hoping Jamie will return to take care of her. But next week on the ITV soap, Kim’s worst fears are set to come true as Millie leaves with Andrea’s mum. Desperate to remain a part of her grandchild’s life, could Kim kidnap a pregnant Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), who’s currently making plans to leave for Portugal?
In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) convinces Kim to hold a memorial service for Andrea, to help Millie with her bereavement.
The youngster still believes her dad will come back because of Kim’s denial.
Gabby’s concern grows when Kim states the memorial might urge Jamie to come back to the village.
Her theory is taken to a whole new level when she later tells Mille that her dad will be at the memorial, which leaves Gabby furious.
The morning of the memorial sees an unexpected twist as Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) walks back into Kim’s life.
Although relieved to have him back, she’s still angry about him leaving in the first place.
As the memorial commences, Will is heartbroken to watch Kim waiting for Jamie to show up.
With her gaze fixed on the road outside the church, she is convinced her son will be arriving at any minute.
Kim’s excitement grows when she sees a late car but it turns out to be Hazel, Andrea’s mum.
She has some big news for Kim, which isn’t likely to be well-received.
Charles delivers an emotional address to the congregation, which Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) relishes.
Andrea was the latter’s latest victim, whom she attacked and left for dead in the fire.
When the service is over, Hazel reveals her news to a shocked Kim.
She announces that she has custody of Millie, not Kim.
Hazel is also stunned by Kim’s claim that Jamie isn’t dead.
When Millie emerges from the church, Kim is devastated by her decision to live with granny Hazel instead of Kim.
As she packs up the last of Millie’s things, Kim finally starts to accept Jamie really must be gone and is beside herself to have lost Millie too.
In a state of desperation, Kim will be willing to do anything to make sure she has her other grandchild in her life.
Unfortunately for her, Gabby is planning on running away to Portugal, but will Kim be able to stop her?
It’s possible she will go to extreme lengths to ensure she has one grandchild near her.
She might even kidnap Gabby as a way of keeping the baby close.
Perhaps she will trick Gabby into coming to see her and not allow her to leave.
Feeling she has lost everything and accepting Jamie is likely dead, Kim might be willing to hurt Gabby and keep her locked at Home Farm.
Driven to despair, Kim could be capable of anything.
She will probably try to convince others that Gabby has run away alone with the baby, all the while hiding her in the house.
Will she be able to keep Gabby locked away for long?
After trying to get custody of Millie before Andrea had even died, she will perhaps try to get legal custody of her youngest grandchild.
In order to ensure Gabby can’t run away though, it’s likely Kim will kidnap the young woman.
Emmerdale continues on Friday at 7pm on ITV.
