Emmerdale star reveals surprise Mack and Charity stunt in death week

Being lost in the woods together is certain to spell disaster with Charity Dingle and her on/off lover Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in Emmerdale – in fact the couple have trouble written all over them without throwing danger into the mix.

But actress Emma Atkins has teased that there are a number of twists ahead in the major week, ones that have involved herself and Lawrence involved in some stunt action that may come as a surprise.

She teased: ‘They have their own interesting journey to go on and between the mischievous banter all is not as well as it seems. Both characters will be pushed to their limits and the audience will be on the edge of their seats.

‘It was a lot of fun. I feel so comfortable working with Lawrence and there was a lot of flirtation between our characters so it always helps to feel at ease around your fellow worker when you’re given scripts such as this.

‘We filmed in the woods near the village and we were using the steady cam for some of the wide shots of the surroundings. It felt very filmic.

‘The scripts were fun and i think it’s going to add a lighthearted touch to the week’s events.’

At one point, Mack fears that Charity is dead when he hears a splash after she goes missing.

With ripples on the lake, he is horrified at the prospect that Charity may have taken the plunge.

But Emma has revealed that the action doesn’t all take place in the woods – as Charity and Mack end up in the maize maze, where danger unfolds thanks to Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).

She told us: ‘It was exciting. I did my own stunt at one point which I can’t divulge because it would spoil the surprise, but it’s a pretty dramatic moment for Charity and Mackenzie.’

Drama seems to follow this couple around – both online or offline.

But they could be doomed in more ways than just their fragile and notably toxic relationship…
