Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas reunites with Corrie, EastEnders and Hollyoaks pals as they ask for jobs back

Adam Thomas left soap fans feeling nostalgic on Tuesday as he shared a photo with Chris Fountain, brother Ryan Thomas and Dean Gaffney.

Taking to Instagram, the former Emmerdale star, 33, who used to play Adam Barton, joked that he was sat with "soap royalty" as he enjoyed a catch up with his friends and family.

Soap fans will recall that Chris, 34, played Justin Burton on Hollyoaks before landing the role of Tommy Duckworth on Coronation Street until he was fired from the soap in 2013 after videos of him performing an offensive rap emerged online. The actor "sincerely apologised" in a statement at the time.

Adam's brother, Ryan, 37, played Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street for 16 years until his exit in 2016 and he went on to play Rafael Humphreys on Neighbours until 2018.

While Dean, 43, played Robbie Jackson on EastEnders until he was "axed" in 2019.

Writing a lengthy caption, Adam joked if the foursome could all have their jobs back on the soaps as it was a "beautiful thing to be part of".

The actor penned: "What do you get when Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, Corrie and EastEnders walk in to a bar !?

"Didn’t realise until someone mentioned it but am sat with soap royalty here!! Say what you want about the man behind the character including myself, but we all brought you some good telly if I do say so myself!

"One thing I know for sure is, each three of these gentlemen have my upmost respect… Mad to think with out our jobs we probably never would of crossed paths, so for that reason alone, I owe so much to the wonderful world of soap…

"Not too mention the best adventure of all time doing a job you love for years and getting paid to do it… it’s hard to call such a thing a job!

"What a beautiful thing to be part of … and what beautiful men you are… @fountain1987 @ryanthomas84 @deangaffney1 Now can we have our jobs back!?"

Former Emmerdale star, Kelvin Fletcher, commented under the post with: "What a crew," followed by heart eye emojis.

While one soap fan put: "You were all incredible in your respective soaps, the bond you have all created is truly special also and one to be proud of."
