Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) hasn’t had the easiest time in the Emmerdale village, as her past has had an impact on her future. In recent months, however, it seems the tables have turned and the mother of one has made a proper life for herself and her son. Though, as Meena (Paige Sandhu) makes a play for a new love interest in the lead up to Christmas, it seems the women could be locking horns and having both killed before, one of them could end up dead. As she has a higher kill count, will Meena ensure her love rival is silenced for good on the ITV soap?

Viewers have watched recently as Meena’s relationship with David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) came to a bitter end post-survival week.

The village shop owner has decided to pursue something with Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) instead and the pair didn’t exactly get a warm reception from the killer.

Ever since she has been planning her revenge on the couple as she believes no man should ever walk away from her for someone else.

In this week’s episodes, however, she will strike up an unlikely bond with singleton Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), who is Dawn’s former lover.

Although the two have been amicable about their split in recent months, it has been clear to fans they still hold a torch for one another.

By the time next week’s episodes come around, Billy and Meena will have agreed to go on a date to see if there is something between them.

The killer will believe this is the perfect solution to getting over David, rather than murdering him or his new girlfriend.

As the date commences, the new love birds are having a wail of time until all of a sudden, Dawn makes an appearance.

This will rile Meena up the wrong way as she would have wanted her new love interest all to herself and not for his former lover to rock up.

Not wanting any more distractions, the murderer could plan a way to get rid of Dawn once and for all as the village prepares for Christmas.

Wanting Billy all to herself, Meena could take it upon herself to confront her love rival, with the plan to kill her in the back of her mind.

As the murderer does before every time she claims a new victim, she tends to confess to taking the lives of others.

This could happen once more but Meena could learn she has taken on the wrong woman as Dawn confesses she too has killed someone.

Back last year, the mother of one took down DI Malone (Mark Womack) after he threatened to kill her and her family.

Knowing one of them has to die in order to end the confrontation, the two women will have to fight against the clock to knock the other one out first.

Unfortunately for Dawn, Meena could get her hands on a blunt instrument quicker and hit her over the head, delivering a fatal blow during the Christmas Day episode.

However, she would have to make it look like an accident or dispose of the body altogether to ensure the police don’t think it’s her who committed murder.

Therefore, she could dispose of the body and tell Dawn’s loved ones she has decided to leave the village for pastures new.

They would be confused as to why she left her son, but Meena could manipulate them enough to think Dawn felt she couldn’t give him the life he needed.

Having struck again and taken the life of a third villager, will the murderer ever be caught or will she increase her kill count further?

Such a satisfying role

With Dawn out of the way, this would give Meena full reins to pursue Billy without any further distractions or interference.

But the young man wouldn’t be able to move on from Dawn upping and leaving without saying goodbye and could begin to distance himself from his new love interest.

Sensing something is wrong, Meena could quiz Billy on why he has been so cold to which he could amid he doesn’t see them going anywhere.

Feeling as if she has made some huge sacrifices to develop their relationship, the killer could turn nasty against her man.

Will this be the moment she is exposed as Billy discovers what the villain has been up to during her stint in the village?

Speaking about her character and the way she ticks, the actress who plays Meena, Paige, said: “It’s such a satisfying role to play. Playing a character that really does things that are very, very out of the norm.

“Not your average day, normal activities, and then to have the satisfaction of the people who were suspicious of you and believing her when she manipulates them.

“And trusting that she’s this innocent person and it’s so fun to play so yes, I want her to keep getting away with it,” the actress continued.

The villain is also known for taking trophies from her victims in order to remember who she has killed but this could be a huge mistake.

Will Billy notice Meena has something of Dawn’s and come to the realisation he has been dating a murderer for weeks?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
