The Emmys 2019 audience laughed at Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner as they presented the award for Best Competition Programme tonight.
The sisters arrived on stage at the Microsoft Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California to announce the nominations for the gong, but before they got down to business Kim gave a little speech.
‘Our family knows first-hand how truly compelling television comes from real people just being themselves,’ the mum-of-four began.
Kendall continued: ‘Telling their stories, unfiltered and unscripted.’
The crowd erupted into laughter at Kim’s remark about calling her family ‘real people’ and it didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter.
‘That audience laugh when Kim was speaking about “real people”… I think is the first cringe moment of the night,’ noted one.
Meanwhile, another added: ‘Lolol did the crowd really laugh when Kim Kardashian said they were real people?’
Kim teased her appearance at tonight’s Emmys on Twitter before arriving on the red carpet.
She wrote: ‘I’ve worn white every time I’ve been to The Emmy’s. I’m breaking tradition this time… maybe I show you my @skims and you can guess my vibe.’
Along with her sister, Kim awarded RuPaul’s Drag Race the gong for Best Competition Programme.
‘Thank you guys so much, all these beautiful people,’ Mama Ru said. ‘We are so proud of these show. To all these people on this stage.’
