The TV presenter and author will be joining a star-studded cast who will all be putting their best foot forward this Christmas. Fern Britton and the rest of the celebs will receive world-class training from a panel of musical experts and compete for the title of All Star Musicals Champion for ITV’s night of holiday entertainment.

Fern will be joined by Ben Miller, Gyles Brandreth, Anita Rani, Catherine Tyldesley and Radzi Chinyanganya for this year’s festive special.

Each of them will be trained up by West End choreographers and vocal coaches in hopes of taking home the grand prize.

In a statement, Fern said: “A chance to dress up and dance with a full orchestra! What a Christmas present!”

Throughout the show, they’ll be performing a range of iconic musical numbers from the stage and screen, including Cats, Moana and The Rocky Horror Show.

Not only will the stars be joined by a full orchestra, but they’ll also have the benefit of a full West End ensemble.

One of the West End’s biggest shows will also be swinging by for a surprise performance.

Plus, panellist and actress Samantha Barks will be taking to the stage for an exclusive performance of Into the Unknown from the hit Disney film, Frozen 2.

Barks will also be accompanied by the returning panel of judges, Elaine Paige OBE and Hamilton’s Trevor Dion Nicholas.

Actor and presenter John Barrowman will be returning to host All Star Musicals this year.

He will also be taking to the stage to kick off the show with Elaine, Samantha and Trevor, performing a medley of tunes from The Greatest Showman.

Fellow contestant Gyles said: “I can’t sing and I can’t dance, but I can dream!”

He also confirmed another musical for this year’s show, adding: “And this is a dream come true – being in a number in my favourite musical, My Fair Lady.”

And Catherine teased: “I’m a huge musical theatre fan- so the chance to sing a song from the first musical I fell in love with is a dream come true.

“Really excited about the tuition too – a great chance to learn from the best.”

Presenter Radzi added: “I cannot believe that I’ll be performing in front of the nation doing something that honestly terrifies and excites me in equal measure.

“I’m starting as a day one, hour one beginner, so I’m really going to be testing the skills of the fantastic musical coaches.”

“I can’t really sing, I don’t normally dance, so what could possibly go wrong?!”

Fern may have a leg-up on the competition after competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.

She was last seen on screens taking part in Fishing Scotland’s Lochs & Rivers on Channel 5 and released her latest novel, Daughters of Cornwall, last year.

All Star Musicals will air this Christmas on ITV and ITV Hub.
