The throwback snap comes shortly after Cheryl celebrated her 38th birthday – and returned to social media.

The star dressed in a casual nude blouse and donned gold accessories as sheheld onto a plate that had been decorated with the words 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate, alongside a pink cupcake topped with a candle

"Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, I had the loveliest day," the former X Factor judge wrote to her fans.

The Girls Aloud star's famous pals also sent their best, including Towie's Jess Wright, who wrote: "Happy birthday beautiful."

Cheryl has been been keeping a low profile in recent months as she takes some time out to focus on herself.

The singer recently revealed she's been embracing the single life after learning how to be happy with herself.

She told Glamour: "I am learning that I can be absolutely fine without anybody, just me by myself.

"I'm learning to be happy just with me. I'm learning to turn to myself for advice. It's all in the process."

Discussing coming off line, she said: "The best thing that I've learned in the past year is having a break from social media is really, really healthy for your mind."

The star was also recently pictured with ex Liam for the first time in three years.

One Direction star Liam split from his fiancée Maya Henry three weeks ago, and reunited with Cheryl at a first birthday party for Liam's niece.

Liam, 27, and Cheryl split in 2018 after two years of dating and just over a year after their son was born but have remained on great terms.

Cheryl was previously married to footballer Ashley Cole, with the couple tying the knot in a lavish ceremony at Wrotham Park in July 2006.

Their romance came to an official end on September 3, 2010, following allegations that Ashley had cheated.
