GMB’s Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid had a heated debate over Harry and Meghan

Piers Morgan's views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been well-documented on Good Morning Britain, and the conversation often gets heated on the ITV morning news programme.

But today’s edition went to another level on the return of the subject of whether the Duke and Duchess should have shared such a Hollywood-style image for their baby announcement this month.

Speaking to journalists Andrew Pearce and Kevin Maguire and radio presenter John Humphrys, Piers and Susanna ended up hijacking the debate and started squabbling live on air.

"They don’t have to tell us they’re pregnant, they don’t have to share this picture which looks like a scene from some film," Piers, 55, began lightheartedly.

Joking that the image reminded everyone of the Hollywood movie Notting Hill, it wasn’t long before Susanna attempted to stop her co-host complaining about the couple’s choice of announcement yet again.

"Hang on," Piers insisted, as Susanna shook her head: "If we hang on you’ll carry on talking forever."

Becoming increasingly frustrated as he continued to debate the topic, Piers asked whether his co-worker understood that privacy in the media is not possible when celebrities post evocative pictures.

"Do you not understand the difference?" he demanded, as Susanna insisted the royal couple are allowed to choose their boundaries.

Meghan just won her privacy case in the UK, but Susanna, 50, said that the now infamous snap is simply the couple’s choice.

"No it's not," Piers rowed, as the duo’s three guests looked on awkwardly.

"You’re supposed to be a journalist, how can you say that?" the presenter blasted at his co-host, whose eyebrows shot up.

"Because I’m not someone who just thinks what anyone else thinks," she shot back.
