What We Do in the Shadows is what happens when you cross Twilight with The Office.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a third series of the horror-comedy mockumentary.
Is there going to be a What We Do in the Shadows season three?
Season three has already been confirmed by FX. The show has been renewed for a third season after strong ratings.
The announcement of a third series did not come with a release date. Presumably, filming has been disrupted by the pandemic.
Season two filmed from October-December 2019 ahead of the season's premiere on April 15, 2020.
So if filming does start on season three by the end of this year, it could well be that season three airs on Hulu on FX in the US and BBC Two in the UK around April 2021.
Both seasons have been ten episodes long, so we can expect season three to have the same amount.
What happened in season one and two?
The series revolves around the vampires hilariously adapting to the modern world.
Throughout the first and second season, we saw Guillermo pester Nandor to turn him into a vampire.
Unknown to the vampires, Guillermo is a descendant of legendary vampire-slayer Van Helsing, and has been killing enemy vampires who come to the house.
In season 2, the Vampiric Council sentenced Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja and Colin Robinson to death for killing Baron Afanas in the first season.
Guillermo comes to the rescue and slaughters countless vampires, saving his friends, but in the process reveals his skills as a vampire hunter.
The Vampiric Council will likely be out for revenge in the third season.
Series creator Jemaine Clement, who will not be returning as a writer, said to DigitalSpy: "I'm leaving them with this big problem to work out. I think it's a good idea to end on a big cliffhanger, we did the same thing last season. Now they can figure out how to get out of this big mess"
Who will be in the season three cast?
Until producers say otherwise, it can be safe to assume that the main cast of hilarious ghouls will be returning.
This includes Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson, Matt Berry as Laszlo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, and Harvey Guillén as Guillermo.
Fans are hoping that some of their favourite returning characters willmake an appearance in season 3, including: Mark Hamill as Jim the Vampire who is Laszlo's arch-nemesis, Craig Robinson as Claude, the leader of a vampire-slaying group, and Haley Joel Osment as Topher, who is now a zombie.
The previous two series of What We Do in the Shadows is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
