Former TOWIE star Joey Essex has signed up for the new series of Celebs Go Dating, Hot TV can reveal.
The reality hunk, who has appeared on I'm A Celebrity and The Jump, is returning to the E4 show for the first time in almost two years in a bid to find love.
A show insider said: “This year has been a complete write-off for Joey when it comes to dating, so he wants to put himself back out there.
“He is looking to date someone who isn’t his usual type and he’s hoping to have fun and learn a bit more about himself.
“Returning to the show’s dating agency will give him a chance to delve a bit deeper into where he’s been going wrong.” Joey has already moved into the luxury mansion where the new series is being filmed.
His arrival was a big surprise for the other celebs including Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry, Wayne Lineker, Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard and the 2019 Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Karim Zeroual. The insider added: “Joey joining the series is really going to mix things up.

“Producers reckon he will turn a few heads.”
Joey starred on the first series of Celebs Go Dating in 2016 and later returned to be the host of the show’s online coverage.
The new series is due to start in the new year.
Filming was reportedly halted recently after show bosses hired a £30m mansion in Surrey so the stars could bubble up together, as one of the celebs caught Covid.
A source told The Sun: "It’s not clear which celebrity has tested positive, but they are showing no symptoms. Despite isolating before taking part, this is a stroke of bad luck.”
A show spokesman said: "Filming has paused temporarily as it awaits further information regarding a routine Covid test.
"The result was unexpected since the individual had quarantined prior to entering the house, and had been regularly receiving negative results."
