Kanye West 'wanted out' a year before Kim Kardashian filed for divorce and is 'annoyed' fans think she initiated split

KANYE West reportedly "wanted out" from his marriage to Kim Kardashian a year before she filed for divorce.

The rapper, 43, is allegedly "super annoyed" that fans think the KUWTK star, 40, – who filed in February – is the one who initiated their split.

Kanye is “super annoyed that the story is being constantly presented as her divorcing him," a source told Page Six.

The insider alleged that the Kardashian family is a "huge spin machine".

“Actually it was him saying for a year that they have nothing in common except the kids and he wanted out,” they claimed.

“She pulled all the stops to try to save the marriage.”

The source alleged that Kanye let Kim “file first in order to give her dignity.”

Kim filed for divorce in February after six years of marriage and the exes have been working through custody agreements.

According to TMZ, the Yeezy creator filed for both joint legal and physical custody of their four children, North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, one.

The pair have decided to co-parent amicably, despite Kanye spending a majority of his time miles away on his Wyoming compound.

The celebrity couple has come to the agreement that they will split their  $2billion fortune evenly which The Sun exclusively reported after the divorce announcement was made.

Due to his music empire and clothing ventures, Kanye is technically the richer of the two, with a staggering $1.3billion fortune.

However, Forbes revealed earlier this month that Kim has joined her soon-to-be ex on the billionaire list, after raking in the "cash from reality television and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments.

The financial magazine reported this month that the SKIMS founder is now also a billionaire.

Her wealth is also thanks to "cash from reality television and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments."

After she launched KKW Beauty in 2017, she quickly expanded from contour kits to eyeshadows, concealers, lipsticks and fragrances.

A year later, the lawyer-in-training was reportedly bringing in about $100million in revenue from the company.

Kim sold 20% of KKW Beauty Coty in 2020 in a $200million deal which valued the company at $2billion.

Due to this figure, Kim's 72 per cent stake in the company is thought to be worth about $500million.

Elsewhere, Kim launched her shapewear line SKIMS in 2019 and owns a majority stake in the company, which hasn't revealed its revenue.
