Loose Women fans wonder if the panel is drunk as they air Christmas Eve special

Loose Women aired its Christmas special with an eccentric show on Christmas Eve, leaving some viewers wondering if its hosts had been getting a little too into the Christmas spirit.

Friday’s episode saw panelists Brenda Edwards, Judi Love, Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford and Janet Street-Porter appearing on the show for some Christmas themed discussion and antics.

The women began with a glass of fizz to toast Christmas while wearing festive outfits, while Ruth Langsford later surprised viewers with a Christmas rap and Coleen Nolan treated viewers to a dance dressed as a turkey, after already dressing as a Christmas pudding and Santa earlier in the show.

Topics discussed included spending Christmas with an ex and what to do with your Christmas leftovers as well as an interview with Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash ahead of their first Christmas with baby Rose.

However, some viewers wondered if the Loose Women panelists had been going a little too hard on the bucks fizz before the show.

One viewer wrote: “Accidentally found myself watching Loose Women this morning. Swear to god they are all smashed including camera people and editors. It’s absolutely shambolic and weirdly rushed – assume they’ve booked a table for early lunch at the slug and lettuce?”

Another added: “The wife just described the chrimbo loose women as being ‘like the Wetherspoons at Gatwick airport.’”

A third joked: “Loose Women drinking on the job, that’s not on! Give them cheese and all is forgiven!”

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash also appeared on the show and revealed they'd made plans for their postponed wedding next year, revealing they are to get married at their home in July.

Speaking to the Loose Women panel, the pair said: "We would love… if all goes well – because Covid ’s still massive and you never know what’s around the corner – but we would love to get married in July next year, we really would," Stacey beamed.

"It will be so nice to have the boys and Rose there," she added.

Moving on to discuss the fast approaching Christmas celebration, Stacey said: "This is such an exciting time for Rex.

"He’s two-and-a-half and it’s the first Christmas he’s had where he’s like 'Wow!'"
