Love Island’s Callum Macleod has opened up on how he quit his dream job to appear on the show – despite being booted off just five days in.
Callum, 28, – who was previously coupled up with Amber Gill – left the villa after she instead chose Anton Danyluk.
Upon leaving the show, he told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about how he left his dream job to enter the villa – and revealed he cried off-screen upon hearing the news he had to leave.
“Did you give up a very good aircraft engineering job to do this?” Phillip asked.
“Yes I did,” Callum responded. “It was honestly the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life.
“Not just the fact it was a good job – I loved my job as well.”

He continued: “Obviously this opportunity comes to me, and it’s not one that comes to everyone."
When asked if he could get the job back, he said: “The thing is, I’ve got my trade, I’ve got my experience, and I left on really good terms with my company.
“My MD actually loves the show, and almost encouraged me and said ‘Go do it’. If I have to go elsewhere to another company…”
