Nadia Sawalha’s sister Julia accuses her of ‘fake tears’ and ‘lies and rubbish’ after she talks about their feud on Loose Women – The Sun

NADIA Sawalha's sister Julia has accused the Loose Women star of "destroying" her family and spreading "lies and rubbish" in a furious tweet.

On Monday's panel show, Nadia, 54, recounted growing up with with her sisters and in particular her "volatile" relationship with Absolutely Fabulous star Julia, 50.

However, after watching the emotional segment, Julia took to Twitter to share her side of the story, fuming: "So tired of #nadiasawalha talking about our ‘stormy’ relationship which she created. I've kept my privacy for 6 years to protect my family, whilst she talks lies & rubbish.

"You have destroyed our family so don’t sit on TV with your fake tears to gain sympathy & attention."

She continued: "Yes well it’s very difficult when you only see the story from one side. I’m not actually fighting, she is, but paints a very different picture publicly and I’ve had enough."

Fans of the star praised her for breaking her silence, prompting a heartfelt response.

Julia said: "Thank you, it took a lot of deliberating and my dear boyfriend putting up with my sadness for too too long. Thank you for saying that, it means so so much to me.x"

And in another interaction with a fan, she admitted showing her sister love just "made things worse".

Nadia opened up about her past in a show to mark 20 years of Loose Women.

Speaking of her and Julia's relationship, she said: "She is totally amazing. She's really amazing my younger sister but we've always had a really volatile relationship.

"So we've always had periods of time in our life where we don't speak. I always say I have the best time or the worst time of my life with her. It's the same with both my sisters.

"My dad always says 'formidable women'. That's all he wanted. He came to this country with £50 in his pocket because he wanted six daughters who were free.

"His sister was married at 14. He said 'I want strong, independent, professional women that follow their dreams.

"What he got was free very independent, difficult women. Because of that we have a very intense on and off relationship."

Nadia also got emotional remembering her first husband Justin Midwater, who took his own life on Christmas Day 1997, aged just 31.

She explained: "I had a real tragedy while I was there, my first husband died and it was a truly, truly awful time for everybody. I had to carry on working, I was in the middle of a very big storyline.

"That was really hard because when somebody dies, so many people have an idea of how you should behave and how you should be. I remember just saying, ‘Can someone give me the book on what I’m supposed to be doing?'"

Nadia was working on EastEnders at the time and revealed how a legendary co-star supported her.

"One of the first calls I got was from Wendy Richards," she said. "I’ll never forget it, she said ‘I can have a car there straight away, you can come to the flat, you can stay as long as you like’. I didn’t take her up because I was really scared of her, but it was such a lovely thing to do it really was."
