Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players onto The Chase on Monday afternoon as they took on the Chaser in a bid to win a cash prize. Margaret, Paige, Simon and Dermot were the brave competitors who went up against Chaser Mark Labbett on the ITV quiz show. However, things didn’t get off to a smooth start for the Beast as he made a double error at the beginning of the episode.

Dermot was the first player to step up and face Mark and things got off to a good start for him.

He secured himself £5,000 in the cash builder round and decided to stick with it, commenting that he wasn’t sure what form the Chaser would be on.

However, when he went head-to-head with Mark he quickly realised he could have been brave and taken the higher offer.

In a rare instance for The Chase, Mark got the first two questions in the quiz wrong.

Bradley commented on his double error, noting it wasn’t something that happened very often on the show.

Mark agreed it was a rarity, adding: “This is once in a blue moon territory.”
