Strictly Come Dancing professionals Oti Mabuse and Giovanni Pernice have landed a new role on the new BBC Three dating reality series “I Like The Way U Move.” Hosted by Jamie Laing and Kaelynn ‘KK’ Harris, the series sees single professional dancers and rookie non-dancers compete to find their perfect partners on and off the dance floor.

Alongside Oti and Giovanni, stars such as Johannes Radebe, Lady Leshurr, Clara Amfo, Layton Williams and Maisie Smith join the show.

These eight celebrities will join world-renowned choreographer Kaelynn ‘KK’ Harris one by one each week to help determine which couple has the routine with the most fire.

Oti is the current reigning queen of the Strictly Come Dancing, having won the sought after Glitterball Trophy for the second time running last year.

Speaking on her appearance on the show, Oti said: “I loved working on I Like the Way U Move, it was entertaining, raw and sexy.

“I had such fun working alongside Jamie Lang and Kaelynn ‘KK’ Harris. It’s a fresh and different way of looking at dance and dating! I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did.”

Co-star Giovanni has been a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing for seven years, reaching the grand final twice.

He expressed: “I am absolutely thrilled to be involved with I Like The Way U Move and be a part of each couple’s journey.

“Dance to me is all about connection to music and a dance partner, but ultimately telling a story, by combining the world of dating and dancing, I got to witness the connection, energy, emotion and chemistry from each couple.

“I particularly loved the focus and commitment from everyone involved and cannot wait to see how it all unfolds.”

Another Strictly face joining the show is newcomer since 2018 Johannes, who is currently competing with partner John Whaite to win the trophy.

“The cast was a bunch of beautiful people, and I loved the jeopardy where they had to dance in order to stay in the competition.

“It’s thrilling and entertaining, and I can’t wait for everyone at home to see it,” he expressed about being on the show.

EastEnders legend and fan favourite Maisie Smith also joined the cast after reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Gorka Marquez.

“I loved my time on set for I Like The Way U Move with Jamie, KK and the cast – dancing is a huge passion of mine, and I know how much work it takes to pull off the level of routines they did!

“There is some serious chemistry on the dancefloor, and I can’t wait forever.”

Last Friday, Maise Smith shared the big news that she would be leaving her role as Tiffany Butcher after 13 years, after joining the show at age six.

Speaking on her departure, she said: “It’s time to say farewell to Tiff, I’ve grown up on EastEnders since 2008.

“I have learnt from the best over the past 13 years. I’m very excited for my next challenge and thank the BBC for the opportunity they gave me as a six-year-old.”

She filmed her last scenes on the BBC soap, which are set to air on-screen late this year, although details of how she will leave have been kept under wraps.

EastEnders’ official Twitter account posted on Friday: “Today was a sad day on the set of #EastEnders as we said goodbye to the amazing @maisie_smith, who finished filming her final scene as the iconic Tiffany Butcher-Baker.”

I Like The Way U Dance is available as a boxset on BBC iPlayer from Sunday, October 17.
