Power Book II: Ghost: A look at the dramatic finale
Power Book II: Ghost launched in September 2020 with fans of the Starz drama series elated to find out what happened after the death of James “Ghost” St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick). The show took a short midseason break before returning with more episodes which aired towards the latter end of the year and into 2021. But will there be more from the series?
Did Power Book 2 come on tonight?
There’s bad news for fans of Power Book II: Ghost, the first season is over and there is going to be a wait now for new episodes.
Season one only consisted of 10 episodes which aired weekly on Starz and its streaming platform Starzplay.
The show launched on September 6, 2020 with episodes airing weekly before the drama took a short break after its fifth instalment.
Ghost then came back in December and completed its run again instalments screens each week.

There was no new episode of Power Book II: Ghost this week because season one is now done and dusted.
However, the show is far from over after Ghost broke records early on for Starzplay, showing there was much appetite for more Power.
Starz swiftly renewed Ghost for season two with the next instalment expected to be coming to screens at some point in 2021.
The second run is likely to have another 10 episodes which will be split up with a midseason hiatus.
Original series Power had an average length of 10 episodes per season with the first and the last being the only exception at eight and 15 instalments respectively.
Therefore, Book II viewers shouldn’t be surprised at the lack of episodes in the new series as it looks like 10 will be the average going forward.
Power’s creator Courtney A. Kemp has opened up about her roadmap for Book II, recently telling Deadline: “I think I have, in my mind I have five or six seasons.
She went on to explain: “The big shift that would happen in season five, the big shift that I’m planning for season five would take the show in a direction where frankly it could go on forever.

“The show could go for 10 seasons or more considering that shift and it’s a big shift. But if that yeah, we could go forward for sure and do some fun stuff.”
However, she said it all depended on fan interest and whether it could be sustained over time.
Kemp said she had ambitions to take the series into the political area at some point.
While fans wait for Book II to come back to find out what’s next for protagonist Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), there is yet more Power to keep viewers entertained.
