Spoilers: EastEnders reveals Whitney's fate as the verdict is in

Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) trial reaches a thunderous conclusion in EastEnders, but what fate awaits for her as the jury reaches a verdict?

Whitney has been terrified of being sent back to prison after her harrowing ordeal earlier this year, and therefore — with help from Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) — she’s done all she can in the hope of achieving a ‘Not Guilty’ verdict.

However, the trial itself hasn’t been without some drama, with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) having collapsed following a panic attack while being cross-examined.

In the coming episodes, Whitney is on tenterhooks, as the end of her trial approaches, and as she prepares for her final statements, Gray encourages her to tell the truth.

Unfortunately for the young woman, she faces yet another issue when the QC comes down with food poisoning, and the only other person who can step up for the final statements is Gray.

Therefore, the solicitor — looking somewhat dishevelled — enters the courtroom in time.

The question is: will he be able to help Whitney?

Or will his presence make matters worse?

We’ll soon find out, as the day of reckoning arrives, and Whitney awaits the verdict.

But what say the jury?

Or ‘Not Guilty’?
