SHE has been paired with pop pin-up HRVY, but pro dancer Janette Manrara says she will not be falling victim to the Strictly Curse.
The BBC series’ strict Covid rules mean Janette is living in a bubble away from her husband and fellow Strictly star Aljaz Skorjanec — but if anything, she says, his absence makes her heart grow fonder.
Janette and HRVY performed a sexy jive on Saturday night’s show and are now being tipped as favourites. But Aljaz is still Janette’s favourite.
She said: “I do see him around the studio. The hardest bit is when I do see him, my instinct is to run and hug him, but, of course, I can’t touch him.
"We’ve been together ten years almost, so it’s a good thing those butterflies are still there.
"But it’s so frustrating I can’t do anything with those butterflies.
“Thank God for FaceTime. I put the phone up on the side of the bed and we just chat while I give my legs a rub — because they are sore from the jive.”
But Janette admits she’s had to put Aljaz, who is paired with Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo, to the back of her mind and concentrate on her own partner.
She said: “I absolutely adore HRVY and I’m just having the best time with him. He’s my main man right now, he’s my focus.”
But I wonder if Janette is the only woman on the show young HRVY is focused on . . .
Scary Come Dancing
BRUNO Tonioli swapped roles with his old Strictly pal/nemesis Craig Revel Horwood by being the bad guy for the night.
Bruno has been unable to do his full role on the UK show so he can judge the US version, Dancing With The Stars.
The most recent episode was a Halloween special in which the judges wore villain costumes – and it looks like Bruno went for a mix of The Joker and Beetlejuice.
LOOSE Women’s Brenda Edwards did not realise she was pregnant until she was five months gone.
The singer, whose son Jamal is 30, said: “I was having my monthly cycle and then I blacked out at my 21st birthday party – I saw the doctor who said I was five months pregnant.
"It was a happy surprise!”
Gemma's class is the business
GEMMA Collins leads a line-up of famous faces appearing in series two of Celebrity Supply Teacher.
The former Towie stalwart is joined by singer Kimberley Walsh, drag queen Courtney Act and Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli in giving kids lessons sprinkled with a little stardust.
The CBBC show starts on November 16 and each star will teach a different subject including singing, Italian, geography, history, interior design and how to be kind.
Gemma, who taught business studies, said: “I have been passionate about business since I was a child.
“We were quite poor growing up and seeing my father set up his own business and seeing how our lives changed motivated me to become a business person.
“I have loved passing on my top tips learnt over the years to the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
Summer’s new face
ACTRESS Harriet Bibby is the new face of Coronation Street character Summer Spellman.
She has replaced Matilda Freeman, who left the soap after three years to pursue other projects.
Talking about her new role, Harriet said: “I am looking forward to bringing Summer’s sass and sparkle to the screen.”
