The Masked Singer viewers convinced Hedgehog is Michael Ball thanks to big clue

After weeks of speculation, The Masked Singer fans think they now know who is the celebrity in the Hedgehog costume.

So far, the Hedgehog revealed he had a job, which means he died every night at 8.30pm – a nod to starring in Phantom of the Opera – and also confessed connections to Hairspray.

He later admitted he's more introverted than people think.

However, it was on the latest episode of the programme that threw up another clue in the VT – and eagle-eyed viewers soon spotted the major hint.

Prior to the Hedgehog's performance, a short clip played out to the audience.

During the VT, a cricket ball was spotted with the name 'Michael' etched across it, with viewers now convinced the English actor and West End star is indeed the man in the animal suit.

"Are we just going to ignore the fact that the ball has 'Michael' written on it. Hedgehog has to be Michael Ball," one user wrote.

While another exclaimed: "Michael Ball! A ball that says Michael."

And Michael did very little to dispel the rumours surrounding the Hedgehog's identity on The One Show, aired on Friday January 24.

Filling in for Matt Baker, it didn't take long for co-host Alex Jones to quiz Michael about his possible involvement in the singing competition.

The Welsh beauty asked: "Can you confirm or deny whether you are, indeed, the Hedgehog on The Masked Singer?"

He laughed: "The Masked Singer, I love this programme. I cannot confirm or deny. But we do know I can be a little prickly."

Moving on the conversation quickly, he added: "We’ll leave it there for now."

The Masked Singer airs on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
