Married At First Sight UK has returned to E4 with a new and improved season, and this time there are more couples. A total of 16 individuals have now been matched by a panel of experts across each week as they hope to find true love. Which of the couples are still together as the commitment ceremonies begin? Express.co.uk has all you need to know.
Which couples are still together?
Nikita and Ant
Nikita and Ant were one of the first couples to tie the knot and it was not necessarily love at first sight.
Nikita admitted she was very picky when it came to choosing men and she reeled off a list of specific requirements.
The experts hoped she would cast her expectations aside, and they managed to find a match in Ant.
The pair had some explosive arguments on their honeymoon and Nikita was later told to leave the experiment due to her “unacceptable aggression”.
This meant Ant had no choice but to quit the experiment at the same time.
Bob and Megan
Bob and Megan left viewers in tears as they found an immediate connection on their wedding day.
When Bob first saw Megan heading towards the altar, he said ‘wow’ and was clearly taken aback by her beauty.
But Megan got cold feet the next day and said she no longer felt attraction towards Bob.
In the latest episode, it was revealed she had kissed Jordan behind Bob’s back and a huge row ensued.
The pair are still in the experiment as they attempt to work things out.
Daniel and Matt
Daniel and Matt were unveiled as the show’s first same-sex couple.
Matt is a 39-year-old charity worker from West Yorkshire, who quit his corporate career when his dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Daniel, however, is only 27 and the sales worker from Northern Ireland noticed the age difference straight away.
Fans will be pleased to hear they managed to stay on the same page and enjoyed getting to know each other on their honeymoon.
Morag and Luke
Morag and Luke were matched in the second episode, but the experts admitted their relationship would be a ‘slow burn’.
They said they did not expect to see sexual chemistry straight away, and Morag declared Luke was “not what she ordered”.
After the wedding, she said she would “not be ripping his clothes off”, but she seemed willing to give him a chance.
Expert Mel Schilling told Morag she needed a “reality check” as she said she did not like the way he dressed, and she has finally seen sense.
Amy and Josh
Amy and Josh were in the second group of singles to get paired and they both had reservations at the start.
Amy, 34, said she would not consider dating anyone under the age of 28 – and she was surprised when Josh revealed he was 26.
She felt an initial spark but will the age gap get in the way?
Josh also expressed how he was not keen on her ‘spiritual’ side and said it could hinder the romance.
Although they have both chosen to stay in the experiment, the tension is starting to rise.
Franky and Marilyse
Franky was pleased when he was matched with Marilyse and she too found her new husband attractive.
The pair hit it off from the outset, but Marilyse was worried her two sons may not approve.
Franky said he was up for the challenge and thinks are looking positive for this classy couple.
They seem to be getting along happily, but some of the other couples believe it is all a facade.
Mel Schilling said she believed Franky was not opening up properly and he was giving “textbook responses”.
Tayah and Adam
Tayah and Adam were one of the last couples to be matched and a family feud took place before the wedding day.
Tayah’s mum was not happy with her decision to enter the experiment, and her dad did not come to the ceremony as he did not agree with the concept.
Thankfully, she turned up to her daughter’s big day and there were tears of happiness.
Adam was thrilled with his bride and told Tayah she was “stunning” before she had even reached the end of the aisle.
She made a quick detour to hug her mum and thank her for coming, and afterwards said there was “100 per cent an initial spark”.
Adam called her “absolute perfection”, so there are high hopes for this couple.
Jordan and Alexis
Jordan was nervous from the outset and he stumbled over his vows during the ceremony with Alexis.
He admitted he was scared about being so intimate this early on in the process, and was not keen on kissing her for the wedding photos.
On their honeymoon, he said she was not his type and when they returned for the first dinner party, he ended up kissing Megan.
Jordan has since left the experiment after changing his answer from ‘stay’ to ‘leave’.
Married At First Sight UK will continue on Tuesday on E4 at 9pm.
