Why is Gogglebox not on tonight?

Gogglebox is one of the Channel 4 favourites on a Friday night and fans look forward to settling down for some light entertainment.

The series has been airing with the likes of Ellie and Izzi, Giles and Mary and Sophie and Pete all airing their views on the latest shows.

The show usually airs weekly at 9pm, but this is not the case tonight (October 15) as Stand Up To Cancer will be taking over.

In fact, the Channel 4 evening schedule has seen a huge overhaul as the charity event kicks off from 7.30pm.

Davina McCall, Maya Jama, Adam Hills and Alan Carr will be hosting the star-studded evening in aid of vital cancer research.

Over the course of the night, viewers can look forward to fun challenges, famous faces, inspirational stories and more.

From 8pm, singing sensation Ed Sheeran will be putting a hilarious twist on his song Bad Habits.

Plus, fans can look forward to a special Celebrity edition of Gogglebox, meaning they can still enjoy the programme they love.

The special episode has enticed plenty of famous faces, including Suranne Jones, Graham Norton, Matt Lucas and Michael Sheen.

From 8.30pm viewers can look forward to a performance from Sigrid and Harry Styles will be giving insight into his everyday life.

The second instalment of Celebrity Gogglebox will air at 9pm and it will see more huge names checking out the week’s TV.

At 9.30pm, music icon Tom Jones will be delivering a powerful tribute and The Wanted open up about band member Tom Parker’s brain tumour battle.

From 10pm there will be a special Derry Girls sketch and a loving tribute to the late comedian Sean Lock.

Celebrity Gogglebox will then return at 10.30pm for another hilarious sketch.

After this, Rosie Jones will be speaking to some of the nations Paralympic heroes.

The fun does not stop there as at 11.30pm, Tom Allen and Desiree Burch will be answering outrageous questions from viewers.

The final acts will take to the stage from 1am until 1.55am, and Big Zuu will be performing some hilarious sketches.

The Stand Up To Cancer extravaganza will hopefully make plenty of much-needed cash for cancer research.

Gogglebox fans will be pleased to hear the original series will be making a comeback next week, on October 22.

In its usual 9pm slot, the armchair critics will be back to analyse the week’s biggest and best shows.

The Goggleboxers won a National Television Award earlier this year, for best Factual Programme.

Sophie Sandiford shared a photo of herself and brother Pete on Instagram, with the message: “We are so so lucky to be a part of something so amazing and to work with such incredibly talented and lovely people, and I can’t believe I get to do it all with my best mate and big brother. How lucky am I.”
