Emily Ratajkowski is providing an intimate glimpse into her newfound motherhood.
On Instagram yesterday, the model posted photos that captured her before and after giving birth to baby Sylvester Apollo Bear, whom she nicknamed Sly. In two of the photos, she cradles the newborn on her chest while showing off a big smile for the camera.
“In between pushes/first moments with Sly,” she wrote in the caption. “Life!”

EmRata and her husband, actor-director Sebastian Bear-McClard, welcomed the arrival of their first child on March 8. She shared the happy news in another Instagram photo of herself breastfeeding little Sly.
“Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side,” she wrote at the time. “Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life.”
Ratajkowski announced that she was expecting in October via a Lena Dunham–directed video, which showed for the first time the model with her burgeoning baby bump. In the video, she narrates a poem she wrote in dedication to her then unborn child.
“I dreamed of you for the first time the other night,” she says during the clip. “We are wondering who you will be.”
Ratajkowski wrote a thank-you note to the Girls creator for helping bring her announcement to life. “Thank you to my brilliant and very generous friend @lenadunham for her vision and commitment to directing this. I’m so grateful,” she shared in the caption. “And thank you to my other wonderful friend @eccopn for his music and to @dschneids for her editing! You all made this the most special. Written and filmed by me. Shot at home.”
